Robert L. "Bob" Owen

Robert L. “Bob” Owen, 75, of Elkhart, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Kindred Nursing & Rehab – Valley View in Elkhart. He was born on May 23, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Lawrence & Elsie Faye (Chiddester) Owen.

He grew up in Millersburg and graduated in 1956 from Millersburg High School. He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area before moving to Elkhart and retired after many years as a banker in Syracuse, Ligonier, Goshen, Shipshewana & Topeka areas.

He was a member of the St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Syracuse and enjoyed the Boat In worship service on Lake Wawasee.

He is survived by:
Daughter –Renita de la Garza of Muncie
Son – Ryan (Vicki) Owen of Syracuse
Grandson – Graham (Justine) de la Garza of Fairfield, CA
Sister – Carol Wallace of Syracuse

He was preceded in death by his parents.

No public visitation or services are planned. Memorial bequest may be given to Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E Day Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
