Robin Kay Evans, 56, of Milford, Indiana, passed away due to complications from cancer on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born in Fort Eustis, Virginia on October 11, 1959 to William Louis Evans Jr. & Dorothy June (Lamunion) Evans. She spent her childhood on various U.S. Army bases including Okinawa, Japan, which was her favorite. Robin was an excellent swimmer. She loved the ocean and would often ride on a boat with her father and sisters and swim in the open water. While living in Okinawa she achieved Junior Life Saving certification for swimming. Her education included high school in Warsaw, Indiana and classes at Ivy Tech. She joined the United States Army Reserves when she was 20. She also worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse, Indiana. 30 years of her life were spent in Milford/Syracuse area. She also lived for brief periods of time in Washington and Arizona. Her passions included reading, attending church, gardening, hiking, and roller skating. She also greatly enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren. She was a life-long animal lover who donated to the Humane Society and rescued animals, often fostering homeless pets until they could be adopted or taken into other loving homes. Perhaps most of all Robin just enjoyed life in general. Her laugh will be greatly missed.
