Ronald L. “Ron” Metzger, 90, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw, IN. He was born on June 25, 1930 in Warsaw, IN to Cloice & Winifred (Ingalls) Metzger.

He graduated in 1948 from Claypool High School, attended International Business College in Fort Wayne, and was a United States Army veteran where he received a Bronze Star Metal. He was a lifetime Claypool / Warsaw area resident and was married on June 7, 1953 in Claypool, IN to Genevieve J. “Gee” Yant who survives. He was a farmer & former Owner / Operator of Metzger Cattle Company in Claypool for many years.

He was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Church.

He is survived by:

Wife – Gee Metzger of Warsaw

2 Sons – Rodney Wayne (Ann) Metzger of Claypool & Blaine Allen (Mary) Metzger of Naples, FL

2 Grand, 2 Gt. Grand, 3 Step Grand, 2 Step Gt. Grandchildren, and 1 Step Gt. Gt. Granddaughter

Sister – Joyce (Robert) Kline of Warsaw

Cousin – Beverly Lyons of Crossville, TN

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave., Warsaw, IN with Pastor Glen Hall officiating. Family requests that face masks are to be worn.

Preferred memorials may be given to United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section St., Claypool, IN 46510 or charity of the donor's choice.
