Ronald Leroy "Ron" Roberts, 76, of Logansport, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport. He was born on March 17, 1940 in Syracuse, IN to James Bernard & Avelda Violet (White) Roberts.

He graduated in 1958 from Syracuse High School, 1962 from Purdue University with his Bachelor’s Degree, and 1963 from Purdue University with his Master’s Degree. He formerly was an agriculture teacher at Wolf Lake & Madison Township School in Wyatt, Indiana, National Sales Manager for Gifford Hill Irrigation in Grand Island, NE, National Sales Manager for Glaval Vans in Elkhart, IN, former owner / operator of U.S. Traveler in Goshen and farmed for 20+ years. He was lifetime Syracuse area resident until moving to Logansport in 2014.

He was a member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church in Millersburg, Past President & Charter Member of the Wawasee Kiwanis in Syracuse, and attended the Syracuse Baptist Church.

He is survived by:

3 Sons -   Brian (Kathy) Roberts of Monterey, IN, David (Kimberly) Roberts of Swayzee, IN, and Todd (Valerie) Roberts of Sheridan, IN

9 Grandchildren - Ashley (Quenten) Easter, Kyle Garland, Alivia Roberts, Brett Roberts, Katie Garland, Chelsea Roberts, Kyleigh Roberts, Christopher Roberts, and Nicholas Roberts

Brother – Jon Alan (Betty Jo) Roberts of Syracuse

Former wife – Phyllis Roberts of Noblesville

Sister in law - Phyllis Roberts of North Webster

He was preceded in death by his parents – Bernard & Avelda Roberts and brother – Earl Lavon Roberts.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Brent Joy of the Syracuse Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery.
