Rosemary C. Gerrity, 89 of Syracuse, IN passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Gardens at Lake City in Warsaw, IN. She was born on May 13, 1925 in Chicago, IL to John C. & Blanche M. (Ryan) Snoreck.

She graduated in 1943 from Kelly High School in Chicago and on May 2, 1945 in Chicago she married Raymond T. “Ray” Gerrity who preceded her on April 18, 1993. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1977 from Massachusetts and formerly worked at Globe Mills in Chicago, H & R Block in Warsaw for 10 years, Rice Ford in Warsaw for 6 years, & Project Safe for 17 years.

She was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw. She was a member of the Elk’s Lodge Auxiliary in Warsaw and served as secretary for the Women’s International Bowling Congress for many years.

She is survived by:
Daughter – Pattie (Rick) Marlow of Syracuse
Son – William “Bill” (Susan) Gerrity of North Webster
3 Grandchildren - Krystalle Johnson, Kyle Johnson, & William “JR” Gerrity
Sister – Patricia (Lowell) Culp of Syracuse
Brother – Harry (Marie) Snoreck of Andover, NY

She was preceded by her parents, husband, sister - Peggy Pliska, & 3 brothers – Charles, John, & Billy Snoreck.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the funeral home with Father Phil Devolder of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in Marion National Cemetery, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 50 E 91st St, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
