Russell J. "Russ" Moore

Russell J. “Russ” Moore, 92, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Mason Healthcare & Rehab in Warsaw, IN. He was born on December 5, 1925 in Fort Wayne, IN to William Earl & Frances I. (Kline) Moore.

He attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne and was a United States Navy veteran. On September 7, 1946 in Warsaw, IN he married Constance J. “Joan” Green who survives and moved to Leesburg in 1949 from Fort Wayne. He retired from Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne after 42 years.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and the 40 ET 8. Former life member of the V.F.W. in Syracuse and was raised in the Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.

He is survived by:

Wife – Joan Moore of Leesburg

2 Daughters – Cynthia (Scott) Beehler of Nappanee & Sandra Stewart of Cromwell

2 Sons – Tom (Rosie) Moore of South Lake, TX & Phillip Moore of Leesburg

6 Grand, 3 Step Grand, & 4 Gt. Grandchildren

Sister – Janice Ianucilli of Fort Wayne

2 Brothers – Jerry Moore of Fort Wayne & Bill (Becky) Moore of Butler

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters – Gladys Rhodes, Evelyn Stough, Bernice Land, Velma Clausen, & Viola McKee, and 2 brothers – Bob Moore & Edwin Moore.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 on Saturday in the funeral home Burial will be in Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the North Webster American Legion.

Memorial bequest may be given to Riley Hospital for Children, 702 Barnhill Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
