Ruth Darlene Sindel, 79, of Elkhart, IN passed away at 7:24 p.m. on July 22, 2017 at Elkhart Rehab Center in Elkhart, IN. She was born February 1, 1938 in Syracuse, IN to Lester O’Dell & Clara Eva (Burson) Sawyer.
She attended Goshen Public Schools, was a homemaker, and lived most of her life in the Goshen / Elkhart area.
She was baptized in 2014 into the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Elkhart.
She is survived by:
2 Daughters – Christine Huffman & Norene (Brent Smith) Black of Syracuse
2 Sons – Fred (Diane) Sawyer of Elkhart & Brian Stouder of Syracuse
6 Grand & 7 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Mary Fraser of Millersburg
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 11 brothers & sisters.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
