Ruth LaVonne "Vonnie" Wiggs

Ruth Lavonne “Vonnie” Wiggs, 81, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born on September 27, 1933 in Hancock County, KY to Jasper L. & Mary Audeline (Staples) Pearson.

She was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident and graduated in 1951 from North Webster High School. On Nov. 15, 1952 in North Webster she married Donald J. “Bud” Wiggs who preceded her in death on January 3, 1997 and retired in 1999 after 25 years with Dekko Heating Technologies, Inc. in North Webster.

She was a former member of the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary # 253 and Senior Citizens Group of North Webster.

She is survived by:
1 Daughter – Dee (Jim Mort) Stephens of Pierceton, IN
2 Granddaughters- Amber (Travis) Kinney of Warsaw & Ashley (Jason) Baker of Warsaw
Gt. Grandson – Jaxon Kinney
1 Brother- Ronald (Liz) Pearson of Leesburg

She was preceded by her parents, husband, granddaughter – Kimberly Stephens, grandson – Jake Stephens, sister – Faye Gross, & 2 brothers Jim & John Pearson.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Saturday with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the United Methodist Church in North Webster officiating. Private burial will be in Oswego Cemetery near Leesburg, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 East Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
