Ruth M. Wagoner, 96, of North Webster passed away at 2:33 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in her home. She was born on August 30, 1918 in Banquo, IN to Elmer L. & Zephy V. (Roberts) Spaulding.
She was raised in Huntington & Grant County, IN and graduated in 1936 from Van Buren High School in Van Buren, IN. On November 3, 1946 in Marion, IN she married Burr J. Wagoner who preceded her on October 30, 1993. She lived in Marion after she was married until 1961, then moved to Antioch, IN where she lived before moving to North Webster in 1966. She was a homemaker, former co-owner / operator of Sinclair / Arco Service Station in North Webster during the late 1960's & 1970's and was formerly employed at Fee’s His & Her Shop in North Webster.
She formerly attended the Methodist Church in Banquo and the Syracuse Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, embroidery, drawing, painting, cooking, gardening and was an avid euchre player well into her 90’s.
She is survived by:
3 Nephews- Garl (Abby ) Campbell of Huntington, Lester Spaulding of Van Buren and Melvin (Kathy) Spaulding of North Manchester
8 Gt. Nieces & Nephews and several Gt. Gt. Nieces & Nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Terry Wagoner in August 2002, 2 sisters- Leona A. Spaulding & Gonvard Campbell and brother- Marcus W. Spaulding.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will follow in Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
