Samual L. Colbert, 65, of Cromwell, IN died at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier, IN. He was born on September 22, 1944 in Wabash, IN to Marlin & Mary (Thompson) Colbert.
He graduated from Wabash High School and was married on November 17, 1967 in Peru, IN to Martha J. Cornelius who survives. He moved to Cromwell / Syracuse area in 1969 from Peru, IN. He previously was employed at Godfrey Marina in Elkhart where he did research and development for several years; Chris Craft Boat Company & Wawasee Boat Company in Syracuse.
He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Syracuse and the IMPBA (International Model Power Boat Association).
He is survived by:
Wife – Martha Colbert of Cromwell
Daughter – Angela Colbert of Michigan
Son – Scott (wife, Brandie) Colbert of Warsaw
3 Grandchildren – Sofia Elizabeth, Brayden Layne, Jillian Rose
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 7812 Vawter Park Rd., Syracuse, IN with Father Larry Biller of the church officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church.
