Samuel H. “Sam” Mishler, 70, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 7:52 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. He was born on August 29, 1945 in Nappanee, IN to Harvey J. & Leatha E. (Miller) Mishler.
He grew up in Nappanee, IN, attended public schools in Nappanee, and lived most of his life in the Syracuse area. He was married on March 22, 1970 in Syracuse, IN to Roberta J. “Bert” Vanette who survives. He retired from Rinker Boat Company in Syracuse after 18 years and formerly worked at Sea Nymph Boat Company in Syracuse.
He is survived by:

Daughter – Rose (Matt) Boger of Auburn
3 Grand & 2 Gt. Grandchildren
4 Sisters – Betty Borkholder of Goshen, Arlene Hershberger of Elkhart, Sharon (Verton) Coblentz of Goshen, and Carolyn (Enos) Yoder of Goshen
3 Brothers – Wayne (Mary Ellen) Mishler of Goshen, Steve (Sue) Mishler of Goshen, and LaMar Mishler of Millersburg
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be given to Syracuse EMS, 8138 E. McClintic Rd., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
