Sandra L. “Sandy” Mafera, 71, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at IU Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on November 24, 1939 in La Porte, IN to Frank J. & Marian R. (Knoll) Rauschenbaugh.
She grew up in La Porte and lived in Auburn for many years before moving to Sawmill Lake near North Webster. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington. She was married on July 4, 1962 in Westwood, MA to Stephen J. “Steve” Mafera who survives.
She is survived by:
Husband – Steve Mafera of Leesburg
Daughter – Mrs. Scott (Stephanie) Taylor of Coruna, IN
Son – Stephen A. “Tony” (wife, Lynn) Mafera of Fort Wayne, IN
4 Grandchildren
Mother – Marian Rauschenbach of Syracuse
Sister – Mrs. Neal (Sue) Koppert of Union, MI
Brother – Frank (wife, Barbara) Rauschenbach of Jeffersonville, IN
She was preceded in death by her father.
No public visitation or services are planned at this time. Private family services will take place at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN
