Sara Berkey

Sara Berkey, age 97, passed away on December 25, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 28, 1926, in Milford, Indiana to Jonas D. Stutzman and Amanda Miller Stutzman.

Sara had a remarkable work ethic that was instilled in her at an early age. She retired from Kimble Glass in Warsaw, Indiana.

One of Sara's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family. The moments they shared together brought her immense happiness. She cherished the close bond she had with her family and was always grateful for their love and support. She especially loved family reunions.

She was a loving mother, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Sara had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her great joy. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Her intricate creations were testaments to her skill and dedication.

Sara's memory will forever be treasured by those who survive her. She is survived by her sons, Kurt Brandon (wife, Tricia) of Bourbon and Royce Berkey of Idaho; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and three sisters: Ruby, Fannie Mae, and Gloria. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, Willis Berkey, two children, Deborah Shoemaker and Steven Berkey; siblings, Vernon, Dorothy, Joe, Magdalene, Dave, Valentine, Fred, and Dannie Lee.

Sara will now be laid to rest during a family-led graveside service at Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee on December 29, 2023. The service will begin at 2PM, allowing friends and loved ones to gather together to pay their final respects to this remarkable lady.
