Sara M. Rhodes

Sara M. Rhodes, 91, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 12:12 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. She was born on April 17, 1929 in Albion, IN to Gloyd & Bessie Mable (Hockenbarger) Gaff.

She graduated in 1947 from Albion High School and attended college in Nebraska for a few years. She was married on November 22, 1952 in Kendallville, IN to Norman W. “Dick” Rhodes who preceded January 22, 2020. She grew up in Albion, lived most of her life in the North Webster / Warsaw area except for a brief time in Waynedale, IN. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Sears in Fort Wayne, Chicago, and Kendallville for several years, Mutual Bank in North Webster, and Pletcher Foods in Pierceton.

She formerly attended the United Methodist Church in North Webster.

She is survived by:

4 Sons – John Rhodes of Canton, OH, Jeff (Kelly) Rhodes of Brookston, IN, Jerry (Elizabeth) Rhodes of Canton, OH, and Jay (Stacy) Rhodes of North Webster

11 Grand & 5 Gt. Grandchildren

She was preceded by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers – John & Bert Gaff.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will follow on Saturday a.m. 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Deanna Strombeck officiating.
