Shawn Patrick Winters, a resident of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness. He was 55 years old.
The son of Sharon Kay (Winters) Dyer, Shawn was born in Wabash on January 11, 1968; Sharon survives at home in Nappanee. He spent his formative years in LaPorte County, graduating from South Central High School with the class of 1986. He was a hard worker who worked in RV Manufacturing. He was also an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Pyro, an ammo replenising vessel.
He loved time spent outdoors and enjoyed hunting when he was younger. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting for Morel mushrooms. A quiet person with a good sense of humor, Shawn will be missed by his family and friends. He was a lifetime sports fan and played football, basketball and baseball through his high school years.
In addition to his mother, Sharon Dyer, Shawn is survived by two children, Ashley Winters of Kalispell, MT and Shane (Brianne Olsen) Winters of Quincy, CA and two grandchildren, Addilynn and Norah. He is also survived by many cousins and several aunts and uncles including: M Bud Winters, David Watson, Michael Watson, Darrell Watson and Tina Daniel. He was preceded in passing by a son, Bryce David Winters; uncle, Jim Watson; his grandparents and his dog, Shadow with whom he enjoyed taking on walks.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Warsaw is entrusted with the care of Shawn and the family. The family will receive friends in an open-house style visitation from 4-7p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 in the Titus Funeral Home Community Room, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw.
