Sherwood T. "Tom" Peters

Sherwood. T. “Tom” Peters, 61, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. He was born on March 1, 1957 in Stroudsburg, PA to Sherwood Lloyd & Alice (Miller) Peters.

He grew up in Pennsylvania and attended East Stroudsburg High School. He was married in April 1986 in East Stroudsburg, PA to Norma Prybo who preceded him on November 20, 2015. And had moved to the Syracuse area in 1997 from Pennsylvania. He was employed at Jasper Plastics in Syracuse and formerly worked at A.I.A. Countertops in Syracuse for 3 years, Precision Fabrication in Ligonier for 8 years, and Skyline Corporation in Goshen for 15 years.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse and raised in the Catholic Church in Pennsylvania.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Cheryl Strauch of Crystal River, FL

Son – Sherwood Peters Jr. of Bangor PA

Several Grand & Gt. Grandchildren

5 Sisters – Shirley Warner of Kunkletown, PA, Pat Reaser of Effort, PA, Marge Gearhart of Mt. Bethel, PA, Sharon Rhinehart of Gilbert, PA, and Kathy Crowley of Effort, PA

5 Brothers – Mike Peters of Sciota, PA, Aaron Peters of Effort, PA, Terry Peters of Kresgeville, PA, Howard Peters of Saylorsburg, PA, and Tim Peters of Effort, PA

He was preceded by his parents, wife, & brother – Eddie Peters

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N St Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S Huntington St., Syracuse. Private family scattering will take place in Pennsylvania at a later date.
