Shirley J. Butler, 85, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. She was born on June 27, 1926 in Leesburg to Edward E. & Mamie F. (Roberts) Black.
She was a lifetime northern Indiana area resident and graduated in 1942 from North Webster High School. She was married on August 8, 1947 in California on the “Bride and Groom” radio program to Glenn D. Butler who survives.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by:
Husband – Glenn Butler of Leesburg
Daughter – Mrs. Jim (Sandy) Harris of North Webster
Son – Gary (wife, Connie) Butler of Goshen
9 Grand & 11 Gt. Grandchildren
2 Sisters- Rosella (Rosie) Hardy & Donna Bevington both of Leesburg
She was preceded by her parents, 1 sister – Margaret Black, & 4 brothers – Ben Black, Doug Black, Orlie Black, Ralph Roberts & 3 infant brothers
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N in North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer of the North Webster Church of God officiating.
Memorial bequest may be given to the Donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
