Shirley Ann Miller, 70 years old at the time, passed away on October 20, 2017 at 10:08 a.m. in her Silver Lake home.
Shirley was born on August 18, 1947 in Wabash. She was the daughter of Dennis B. and Ruth (Helton) Johnson. She was united in marriage to her long-time companion, Clyde L. Miller on May 8, 2007.
Shirley was a familiar face at the Silver Lake Mini Mart, where she worked for the last several years. She was strong willed, quick witted and spoke what she thought – without apology. She loved birds, especially hummingbirds and enjoyed tending to her plants. She was outgoing and rarely knew a stranger but most enjoyed time spent with her family.
Those who survive include husband, Clyde Miller of Silver Lake; two children, Lisa (Rob) Daffron of Pierceton and Duane Allen Boicourt of Indianapolis and three grandchildren: Sheli Clemons (fiancée, Elizabeth Thompson) of Fort Wayne, Tia Clemons (fiance, Jesse Manns) of Warsaw and Skylar Boicourt of Martinsville. She is also survived by 2 great-granddaughters; a niece, nephew and sister-in-law, all of whom she loved dearly and her best-friend, Sandy (Dale) Whitworth-Miller.
Shirley was preceded in passing by her parents and a brother, Douglas Wayne Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 23rd at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, for a time of visitation and to celebrate Shirley’s life. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. with the service beginning at 6 p.m. Pastor JP Freeman of North Manchester Congregational Christian Church will officiate.
