Shirley A. Johnson

Shirley A. Johnson, 78, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. She was born on September 19, 1939 in New Paris, IN to Ralph V. & Damie Alice (Byrd) Knisley.

She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1958 from Syracuse High School. She was married on April 8, 1960 in Milford, IN to Kenneth D. “Kenny” Johnson who passed away on July 8, 2018. She retired from Ace Pest Control in North Webster and formerly worked at Thornburg’s Drug Store in Syracuse & the State Bank of Syracuse.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Kristi (Antonio) Mannella of Miami

Son – Scott Johnson of Ligonier

3 Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. S.R. 15, Warsaw, IN. A Celebration of Life Gathering for Kenneth and Shirley Johnson will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Graveside services will take place at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the Syracuse Cemetery with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating.
