Steven W. “Steve” Solina, 68, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:44 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Mason Health & Rehab in Warsaw, IN. He was born on September 30, 1948 in South Charleston, W. VA to Bernard Homer & Margaret E. (Chapman) Solina.
He grew up in West Virginia and attended St. Albans High School in St. Albans, W. VA. He moved to the Syracuse area in September 1968 from West Virginia and was married on January 11, 1969 in Syracuse, IN to Connie L. Brown who survives. He retired in 2010 from Kinro, Inc. in Syracuse after 15+ years and was a lifetime salesman for the RV Industry.
He was a member of the Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse and his greatest passion in life was the love for his grandchildren.
He is survived by:
Wife – Connie Solina of Winona Lake, IN
2 Daughters – Candice (Joseph) Salvo of Syracuse & Kelli (Jason) Gambrel of North Vernon, IN
Son – Chris Solina of Milford
7 Grandchildren – Delaney, Elijah, Margaret, Evan, Emma, Grace, and Brock
Sister – Lisa (David) Hampton of Goshen
Brother – Rod (Monica) Solina of Goshen
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of a traditional funeral service, the family has decided to honor Steve with a Celebration of Life Gathering from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Blue Barn Berry Farm, 9139 N. 300E, Syracuse, IN. Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery at a later date.
