Sue Jefferies, of Winona Lake, passed surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital on Monday December 12, 2022, at the age of 82.
Born in Warsaw, Indiana on December 14, 1939, she was one of the five children of Harry and Velma Edington (Babcock). Sue was a graduate of Claypool High School. On October 26, 1958, in Warsaw, Sue was united in marriage to Larry Jefferies. Together, they shared 57 years before his passing in August of 2016. The two spent their lives raising their two daughters, Laura and Aimee.
A loving and giving person, Sue was a friend to all and loved to help those who needed it most. She was always coming up with innovative ideas to make other’s lives easier. Sue was very crafty and enjoyed her time at Grace Village making pillowcases through Ryan’s Case for Smiles. She also enjoyed the euchre club at Grace Village. As the “queen of bedazzle”, Sue loved to shop at Goodwill for herself and could never go anywhere without her lipstick and jewelry. Most of all, Sue loved her family and treasured time spent with them.
Those who survive with broken hearts include her daughters, Laura (and husband, Ken) Schue and Aimee (and husband, Bob) Hartwiger; four granddaughters: Mandy (and husband, Bret) Walters, Carol (and husband, Mark) Simmons, Brittany (and husband, Jake) Herendeen, and Abbey Hartwiger; four great-grandchildren; Delaney Walters, Cooper Walters, Claire Walters, Aiden Walters, and another on the way; and sister, Edith Marvel. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Harry Edington and Velma Evans; husband, Larry; brothers, George Edington and Harry Edington Jr.; and sister Maybelle Medlam.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Sue’s care. Friends and family may gather there, 2000 Sheridan St. Warsaw, Indiana, for visitation on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 19, 2022, with the doors opening at 11:00am. Sue will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery.
