Susan Marie Phillippe (Tyrrell), daughter of Milt and Gretchen (Phillips) Tyrrell of Elkhart, IN went home to Jesus on April 3, 2015 at Goshen Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer.
Born Susan Marie Tyrrell in Englewood, NJ August 14, 1959, she grew up primarily in New Hampshire, Michigan and Illinois, where she graduated from Marquette Manor Christian Academy, Downers Grove, IL. After a year of college, she toured the nation for 3 years with The Agape Players Christian Troupe based in Lake Wales, FL.
On December 22, 2012 she married Robert Joseph Phillippe at Olive Mennonite Church, Elkhart, IN. Her warm and caring personality drew people to her. She was a champion for truth. Her joyful spirit and sense of humor in the midst of great suffering were an inspiration to all and a testimony for her faith in Christ.
Susan is survived by her parents, her husband, and her two children: Grace Margaret (Isaac) Blosser of Seattle, WA and Lewis Jay Tyrrell of Minneapolis, MN. Susan is also survived by two step sons: SSGT Bo (Amy) Hall and son Kasey of Topeka, KS. and Aaron (Allison) Phillippe of Avondale, AZ. Susan's surviving siblings are: Timothy Tyrrell of Greenville, SC, Rebecca (Robert) Flecther and their 6 children of W. Chicago, IL and Lois Lewis and her four daughters of Bartlett IL.
Susan was fortunate to have two loving church families at Olive Mennonite Church and North Webster Church of God. The family's deepest thanks go out to the ladies of Olive Mennonite Church who maintained a 24 hour bedside vigil during Susan's last weeks.
Susan is greatly missed by her family and all whom she came in contact with.
Services celebrating Susan's life will be held Monday, April 6th at Olive Mennonite Church with viewing from 2-4 PM and service to follow. Also, Tuesday, April 7th at North Webster Church of God with viewing from 2-3 PM and service to follow. There will then be a short internment ceremony at Oswego Cemetery.
