Ted Wayne Prater went Home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Age 56 at the time of his passing, he was a Warsaw resident.
Ted, known by those closest to him as “Wayne,” was the son of Ted and Georgia Prater. He was born on January 2, 1964 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky and spent much of his lifetime in Warsaw and Kosciusko County. He attended Warsaw High School and worked in polishing for Biomet, Zimmer and Othy. Ted often had several side jobs and rarely complained about a hard day’s work – he was a true hard worker.
Ted was the life of the party and rarely knew a stranger. He loved to sing and tell stories and had a way of encouraging others, building them up even when he may have been going through a tough time himself. He was a father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. Ted had previously attended God’s Highway to Heaven Church though he remained steady in his Christian faith.
Those who survive include his son, Aaron Prater of Warsaw; grandson, Travis Prater of Mishawaka; sisters, Lana (Roger) Sloan of Warsaw and Ruth Harris of Warsaw and brothers, Fred Prater of South Whitley and Eddie Prater of Warsaw. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his mother on June 27, 2014, his father on March 1, 2020 and by both sets of grandparents.
A memorial gathering will be held in celebration of his life on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Condolences may be left for the family by visiting the Titus Funeral Home website at www.TitusFuneralHome.com
