Teddy Fonk, age 78 of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away quietly but unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 just after 3 p.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born on February 1, 1942 in Russell, Illinois and was the son of Leslie Teddy Fonk and Eleanor (Burkhardt) Roth. Growing in Chicago’s north suburbs, Teddy was graduate of Zion-Benton High School. Professionally, he spent many years a mechanic and owned his own Mobil Service Station and Towing Service for some time.
A hard worker, Teddy was a true McGyver – able to fix anything with seemingly impossible solutions. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved time spent outdoors. When stuck inside, he enjoyed rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and watching Sci Fi movies. Although he was quite a prankster, he is most remembered for his awesome sense of humor and his giving nature.
Those who survive with memories to cherish include his fiancée, Stacey Boettcher of Warsaw; three daughters: Leslie Fonk of Kenosha, WI, Tracy Fonk of Sevierville, TN and Kelly Fonk of Gurnee, IL and six grandchildren: Brandon Ritter, Amber (Jeremy) Weaver, Mandy Kolodziej, Kole Kamine, Dallis Kamine, and Trystan “Jewel” Fonk-Varner. Also surviving are two stepchildren: Ashley Cashmore and Brandon Fonk and three great-grandchildren.
