Thomas R. "Tom" White

Thomas Rhea "Tom" White, 79, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 8:59 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1937 in Auburn, KY to Mendel Douglas & Mattie (Penrod) White.
He graduated in 1956 from Kaiser High School in Dayton, OH and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was raised in Dayton, OH, moved to Goshen, and then to Syracuse in 1978. He was married on September 19, 1987 in Syracuse, IN to Karen Sue (Plank) Noel Larimer. He retired from Johnson Controls in Goshen, IN after 25 years and then he worked part time for Sweet Corn Charlie’s in Syracuse during the summer.
He was a member and Deacon of the North Webster Church of Brethren, American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse, and the V.F.W. in Syracuse. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan.

Daughter- Susan Irene (Jay) Wicks of Elkhart
Son- Richard (Linda) White of Dayton
2 Step Daughters – Tamara (Michael) Kiefer of New Palestine, IN & Holli Fishburn of Greenwood, IN
Step Son – Michael (Chris) Noel Jr. of Milford
12 Grand & 5 Gt. Grandchildren
3 Sisters – Delores “Dee” Szucs of Charleston, SC, Reba Janice (George) Brooks of Edgewater, FL, and Kay (David) Anglemyer of Goshen
2 Brothers – Mendel “Butch” (Mary) White of Rock Hill, SC & Greg (Donna) White of Pleasant Hill, OH
He was preceded in death by his parents & brother – Charles White.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Church of the Brethren, 7281 E 600 N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church with Pastor Bob Wyman of the church officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorial may be given to the Church of the Brethren, 7281 E. 600N, North Webster, IN 46555.
