Thurl S. Kester, 68, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at 4:02 AM in his Warsaw, Indiana home.
The son of Clyde T. and Geneva W. (Stucker) Kester, he was born September 13, 1946 in Wabash, Indiana. He attended Warsaw schools. He and Janet E. Schaetzle were married March 7, 1965 in Bourbon, Indiana. She would precede him in death on June 12, 2012.
Then on October 19, 2013 he and B. Jane Earl were married in Warsaw.
Thurl worked side by side with his dad until he took over the business of Kester’s Electric Motor Service in Warsaw.
He raced sprint cars, loved motorcycles and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. And he loved dachshunds.
In addition to his wife, Jane, Thurl is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Christine Kester, Warsaw; W. Clyde and Jennifer Kester of Lakeville, Indiana and Steven and Sherry Lee of Albion, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law: Laura and George Stidams , Warsaw; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law: Greg and Mary Kester, Warsaw.
Family and friends will come together Monday, February 16th, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home for a time of sharing as they comfort one another.
Tuesday, February 17th at 10:30 AM a service celebrating the life of Thurl S. Kester will take place in the funeral home. Rev. Mark Cottrill of United Pentecostal Church of Bourbon, Indiana will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Thurl’s memory be given to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, PO Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906.
