Tomas Reyna, a larger-than-life personality, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne on June 17, 2023. He was 55 years old.
Born on February 11, 1968, in Columbia City, Indiana, Tomas was the son of Frank and Paulina Reyna (Garay). After high school, Tomas served his country in the United States Army's 82nd Airborne division where he earned the Bronze Service Star. He also completed an associate’s degree in business from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
Tomas worked as a supervisor at Walmart for 23 years. It is there where he met his beloved life partner, Leonor Pulido. His co-workers remember him for his sense of humor and positive attitude that made every day at work much brighter. Besides his career, Tomas had many hobbies and interests which included studying War History and cheering on Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish football. He was also an avid runner who participated in marathons, but his favorite hobby was jumping out of planes.
Known to be always joking with family and playing pranks, Tomas left behind countless memories cherished by all those who knew him. According to family members who remember him fondly, even when he wasn't being serious, "he was always sincere, sweet and loving". You could hear his laugh from a mile away; it was infectious as it spread joy to anyone who heard it.
Those who survive with broken hearts include his children, Elianna and Daniel Reyna; life partner, Leonor Pulido; mother, Paulina Reyna; and siblings, Rudy Reyna, Rosa Styles (Robert Schwartz), Patricia LaFollette (Mike), Annette King (Steve), Linda Gelbaugh (Mike), Ruben (Eileen), and Kendra Creighbaum (Kyle). He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in passing by his father, Frank; and sister, Maria De Jesus Reyna.
