Torie Ann Stage Wilkins, age 54 at the time of her passing, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Her passing was in her Warsaw, Indiana home where she was surrounded by family and friends.
Torie was born to Benny and Mary (Downham) Stage on February 16, 1963 in Elwood, Indiana. Although she spent several years there, her family would move to Warsaw in the late 60s. She spent most of her lifetime in the Warsaw area and was a 1981 graduate of Warsaw Community High School.
Torie was married to Jerry Wilkins on September 7, 1979. Together they had two sons and one daughter. Jerry and Torie stayed close friends, even after they were legally divorced.
Torie’s two main loves were her family and her flower gardens. She enjoyed being outdoors. She also enjoyed rock music of the 60s and 70s and was known as a good cook.
Although she touched many lives, a short list of those who survive Torie includes her son, Jerry (Danielle) Wilkins of Ligonier; daughter, Sandra (Joey) Hall of South Whitley and son, Nickolas (Melissa) Wilkins of Warsaw. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Noah Wilkins, Abbagail Hall, Tanner Wilkins, Emma Wilkins, Adina Guzman, Bryson “Kip” Wilkins and Landen Wilkins; mother, Mary Stage of Warsaw; brother Benny (Theresa) Stage, Jr. of Claypool and by her ex-husband and good friend, Jerry Wilkins of Kansas City, Missouri.
Torie was preceded in death by her father, Benny Stage, Sr. and an infant sister, Patty Diane Stage.
Interment will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery. A graveside service, conducted by Pastor Mike Settles of Claypool United Methodist Church, will be held on Monday, September 25th. Those wishing to join the family may meet at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, at 2 PM.
