Trent David Hire

Trent David Hire, 59, of Ligonier, IN passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at his home. He was born on October 17, 1960 in Goshen, IN to David Ray & Betty Lou (Coy) Hire.

He was a lifetime Ligonier area resident and graduated in 1979 from Fairfield High School. He was married on February 16, 1980 in Ligonier, IN to Brenda J. Mishler who survives.  He was employed at Alexander Dennis Inc. for many years, formerly worked at Borkholder Buildings & Supplies in Nappanee, IN for 21 years and was a former diesel mechanic.

He was a member of the Richville United Methodist Church in Ligonier, was a W.W. II history buff, a big Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and a coin collector.

He is survived by:

Wife – Brenda Hire of Ligonier

Daughter – Teri (James Lent) Hire of Cromwell

2 Sons – Trevor (Gloria Currie) Hire of Ligonier and Kyle (Amber Brooks) Hire of Goshen

4 Grandchildren – Derrick, Aaliyah, Ashton, and Oliver

Father – Dave Hire of Ligonier

Sister – Jennifer Christian of Ligonier

Brother – Greg (Melanie) Hire of Goshen

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Richville United Methodist Church, 11009 CR 50, Ligonier, IN with Pastor Tamara Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in the Hire Cemetery in Ligonier.
