Valda Herendeen (Krebs)
Valda R. Herendeen, a resident of Warsaw, was called Home Monday, July 23, from Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 76 years old when the Lord called her back.
Born on July 13, 1942, Valda was the daughter of Edward C. Krebs and his wife, Fannie L. (Pratt) Krebs. She spent her life in Kosciusko County and was married there to Edward R. Herendeen. The two were married August 5, 1960 and were together for nearly 58 years.
Valda was a graduate of Warsaw High School in the class of 1960. She worked at Da-Lite Screen for more than 35 years.
A selfless and giving woman, Valda always put others first. She was a devout member of New Harvest Church of Nazarene for many years. She was an avid reader of all types of books, with an interest in biographies near the end. Valda and Ed enjoyed traveling and bowling; the two were in a league together for many years.
Those who survive include her husband, Ed Herendeen of Warsaw; her sons, Rich (Pam) Herendeen of Avilla and Kyle Herendeen of Larwill; grandsons Tyler Herendeen of Pierceton and Brady (Ashlynn) Herendeen and great-granddaughter Hazel Herendeen of North Manchester.
Along with her parents, Valda joins her sister, Virginia, in Heaven.
Friends may call at Titus Funeral Home¸ 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, on Thursday, July 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. Her life will be celebrated in a traditional funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home with additional visitation for one-hour prior. Officiating the service is Pastor Bill Keen of New Harvest Church of Nazarene. Burial will follow with a graveside service in Oakwood Cemetery.
