Vanessa Shufelt (Stone)

Vanessa L. Shufelt, 84, passed away at 6:05 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana. The daughter of Elwin and Alice (Drew) Stone, she was born on January 4, 1930 in Piedmont, New Hampshire. She and Arnold Allan Shufelt were married March 14, 1952 in Orleans, Vermont.
Vanessa lived most of her life in Kosciusko County and was a nurse’s aide at Millers Merry Manor for 7 years.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading magazines and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Robin Stiles of Tippecanoe, Indiana; 4 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Arnold A. and Barbara Shufelt of Connecticut; Michael W. and Candy Shufelt of Plymouth, Indiana; Mark R. Shufelt, Rochester, Indiana; and Matthew P. Shuflelt, Tippecanoe; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, on April 27, 1982; son, Paul Shufelt; and 4 brothers: Arland Stone, Mason Stone, Warner Stone and Hugh Stone.
Graveside services for Vanessa L. Shufelt will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at noon at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with Pastor Bob Jarboe, chaplain with Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice officiating.
The family has asked that gifts given in memory of Vanessa L. Shufelt be directed to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, PO Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906.
