Vaughn W. Atchison Sr., 66, of Ligonier, IN passed away at 1:49 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier, IN He was born on May 11, 1950 in Springfield, OH to Richard & Jane (Eversole) Atchison.
He graduated in 1969 from Tecumseh High School in Donnelsville, OH and was a United States Army veteran. He moved to Syracuse in 1973 from Springfield, OH and on May 12, 1973 in Pigeon Forge, VA he married Kathy A. (Page) Huffenberger who survives. He was formerly employed at Hart Housing in Nappanee for 6 years, Forest River in Goshen, and was a semi driver for Snyder Trucking in Pennsylvania.
He is survived by:
Wife – Kathy Atchison of Syracuse
Daughter – Tanisha Atchison of Goshen
2 Sons – Vaugh W. (Birdie) Atchison Jr of Ligonier & David Huffenberger of Cromwell
8 Grand & 3 Gt. Grandchildren
Father – Richard Atchison of Tampa, FL
Half Sister – Tyra Coe of Springfield, OH
Half Brother – Roger Coe of Thailand
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N SR 15, Warsaw. No services are planned. Private family burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
