Vera M. Platt

Vera M. Platt, 79, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 9:10 a.m. on August 4, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw, IN. She was born on January 3, 1938 in Vernon, TX to Harold K. & Vera M. (Martin) Kindt.
She graduated in 1956 from Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA and in 1960 from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, AL. On September 1, 1956 in Fort Belvoir, VA she married Henry N. Platt who preceded her on November 24, 2008. She moved to Oswego in 1960 from Birmingham, AL and retired in March 2006 from Wal-Mart in Warsaw after 17 years.
She was a member of the Bread of Life Church in Goshen, IN.
She is survived by:
4 Daughters – Denise (Roger) Wiggs of Syracuse, Christy Platt of Colorado, Grace (Chad) Tener of Leesburg, and Rachel (Brian) Miller of Warsaw
2 Sons - Kenneth (Katrina) Platt of Warsaw & Kevin (Karen) Platt of Leesburg
16 Grand & 14 Great Grandchildren
Mother - Vera Cox of Pipestone, MN
2 Sisters –Twin Sister – Jonny (Marvin) Tuinstra of Verndale, MN and Annabelle (David) Gilmore of Pipestone, MN
She was preceded in death by her father, husband, grandson – Kenneth Platt Jr., and gt. granddaughter – Baylee Rehn Corrao.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Leesburg Cemetery with Pastor Tim Neely officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorial may be given to the Bread of Life Church, 14052 C.R. 34, Goshen, IN.
