Vickie L. Myers, 65, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at IU Health Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on February 22, 1947 in Kendallville, IN to Wilford E. & Carol L. (Case) Fair.
She attended Ligonier High School and on September 29, 1962 in Ligonier, IN she married Charles W. Myers who survives. She lived most of her life in Noble, Elkhart, & Kosciusko Counties, having moved to Syracuse in 1974 from Goshen. She retired after 33 years as a nurse’s assistant. She formerly worked at Fountain View Nursing Home in Goshen, LuAnn Nursing Home in Nappanee and also worked at private in-home nursing. She formerly attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Nappanee.
She is survived by:
Husband – Charles Myers of Syracuse
3 Daughters – Mrs. Tyson (Tina) Barnett of Warsaw; Mrs. Steve (Shelia) Charlton of Syracuse; & Mrs. Mark (Karen) Curry of Syracuse
4 Grand, 3 Step Grand, 2 Gt. Grand, 6 Step Gt. Grandchildren
1 Sister – Peggy Lounsbury of LaGrange, IN
2 Brothers – Bob (wife, June) Fair of Bristol & Jerry (wife, Donna) Fair of Indianapolis, IN
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents that raised her – Andrew & Agnes Case.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday with Merv Swartzentruber officiating. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery.
