Viola M."Vi" Weicht

Viola M. “Vi” Weicht, 86, of Blairstown, NJ (formerly of Pierceton, IN) passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Blairstown, NJ. She was born on April 6, 1929 in Noble County, IN to Cecil Edward & Vicie Gladys (Howell) Knapp.

She graduated in 1948 from Wolf Lake High School and was married on November 18, 1950 to Billy S. Weicht who preceded her in July 1997 after 46 years of marriage. She lived most of her life in Noble & Kosciusko County but has resided with her daughter in New Jersey for the past 12 years to help care for her grandchildren who were her pride & joy.  She retired in 1989 from Weatherhead Corp. in Columbia City after 40 years of service.

She attended the Church of God in North Webster.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Franclin “Fran” Weicht of Blairstown, NJ

2 Sons – Dave (Barrie) Weicht of Pierceton & Daniel (Susan) Weicht of North Webster

5 Grandchildren – Christi Hedington of Tippecanoe, IN; Amy Johnson of Cromwell; Tristan Weicht of Fort Campbell, KY; Claire & Wyatt Zara of Blairstown, NJ

4 Gt. Grandchildren – Lucas & Devin Stidams of Tippecanoe, IN; Teigan Weicht of Fort Campbell, KY; & Emma Johnson of Cromwell

2 Brothers – James (Ivajean) Knapp of Fort Wayne & Calvin (Helen) Knapp of Fort Myers, FL

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, & 2 brothers – Charles & Donald Knapp.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
