Violet “Edelva” Butt, 92, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 1:58 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on June 18, 1919 in Syracuse to Arthur C. and Violet (Prentice) Kolberg.
She was a lifetime area resident and graduated in 1938 from Syracuse High School. On October 12, 1940 in Syracuse she married Frederick R. "Fred" Butt who preceded her on December 25, 1994. She was a homemaker and retired as a self-employed interior decorator and cleaning lady. She was a member of the Church of God, Hi Neighbors Club, and Goodwill Home Economic Club all of North Webster.
She is survived by:
Daughter – Mrs. Roger (Toni) Lemon of Kimmell, IN
Son – Burton (wife, Hinke) Butt of Syracuse
5 Grand & 18 Gt. Grandchildren
3 Sisters – Mary Byrd of Mishawaka; Decima Butt of Syracuse; & Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Poyser of Cromwell
1 Brother – Berton Kolberg of Syracuse
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter – Diane Bratton & 3 Sisters – Bandora Iden, Violetta Stoner & Edonna Kolberg
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN . Funeral services will follow at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will follow at the North Webster Cemetery (Mock Addition).
