Virginia C. Jones

Virginia C. Jones, known to family & friends as "Babes," passed away on January 6, 2025, at The Restoracy of Goshen. She was 93 years old.

She was born on August 20, 1931, in Syracuse to Donald Edward and Alta (Kolberg) Ringler. Virginia lived most of her life in the Syracuse area. She was married to Ray D. Jones on September 26,1950; Ray preceded her in passing on May 8, 1977.

Virginia was a homemaker, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of her family. She began her career as a factory worker for Syracuse Rubber Co. and G&W Pizza, but it was her role as a mother and grandmother that she cherished the most. She was admired by her family and friends for her kindness and generosity, always putting the needs of others before her own. 

Virginia maintained an insatiable appetite for life. She was an excellent cook, known for her delicious pot pie, dumplings, and coleslaw, which brought her family together around the dining table. In addition to her culinary talents, Virginia enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas.

Virginia treasured her family above all, building special bonds with each of her grandchildren and proudly celebrating their accomplishments. She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Larry) Bechler of Goshen & son, Mitch (Tracie) Jones of Syracuse; grandchildren: Shanna, Nikki, Stace, Amber, Christi, Dustin & Mitchel and 13 great-grandchildren. 

Virginia is preceded in passing by her parents, Donald and Alta Ringler; her husband, Ray D. Jones; her son, Dennis Jones; her daughter,Ginger Palmer; grandsons, Kyle & Dennis Jr.; brother, Donald "Gene" Ringler as well as her step-sister Marilyn Rhodes.

A visitation will be held on January 10, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 1001 South Huntington Street, Syracuse. A graveside service will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
