Virginia Pergrem
February 22, 1918 — March 3, 2008
Virginia L. Pergrem, 90, of Ligonier died at 1:50 p.m. on Monday, March 03, 2008 at the Maples of Waterford Crossing Nursing Home in Goshen. She was born on February 22, 1918 in Chicago, IL to Roy & Catherine (Sheely) McDaniels.
She graduated in 1936 from Burr Oak High School in Burr Oak, MI. She moved to the Ligonier/Topeka area in 1936 from Michigan. On June 1, 1938 in Goshen she married Heraldon Layton Pergrem who preceded her on June 13, 1993. She retired from Monsanto in Ligonier after 15 years and was one of the first foreladies. She enjoyed using her hands, knitting, gardening and ceramics.
She is survived by:
2 Sons - Layton L. (wife, Cynthia) Pergrem of Syracuse & H. Royd Pergrem of Syracuse;
5 Grandchildren & 2 Step Grandchildren;
2 Great Grandchildren & 3 Step Great Grandchildren;
2 Great Great Grandchildren
She was preceded by her Parents, Husband, Sister - Phyllis Smith & Brother - Ira McDaniels
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier, IN.
