Virginia M. Spiese

Virginia M. Spiese, 85, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1924 in York County, PA to John & Margaret (Gentzler) Hein.
She lived most of her life in Pennsylvania until moving to Pierceton in 2004. She graduated from William Penn High School in York, PA and was married on April 6, 1946 in Maryland to Albert T. "Al" Spiese who preceded her in death in 2004.
She was a homemaker and formerly worked for the Navel Ordinance Plant in York, PA. She formerly attended the Grace Brethren Church in York, PA where she taught Sunday school for 30 years.
She is survived by:
Daughter - Mrs. Brian (Judy) Bartholomew of Pierceton, IN;
2 Grandchildren - Derek Sparks & Mrs. Jamie (Melissa) Van Lue;
8 Gt. & 1 Gt. Gt. Granddaughter;
Brother - Dale (wife, Jean) Hein of PA;
Sister - Charlotte Obrien of DE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, & 2 brothers - William & Roland Hein.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy of the North Webster Church of God officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Greenmount Cemetery, 721 Carlisle Ave, York, PA with Rev. David Moss of the North Hills Bible Church in York, PA officiating.
Memorial bequest may be given to Wawasee Camp of Gideon's International, P.O. Box 101, Syracuse, IN. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
