Vivian Blue (Slusher)

Vivian C. Blue, 99, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at 2:30 PM in her Nappanee, Indiana home.
Vivian was born October 7, 1916 in Woodburn, Indiana to Oscar and Bertha (Spencer) Slusher. She was a 1934 graduate of Claypool High School, Claypool, Indiana.
Vivian and Charles “Pete” Blue were joined in marriage July 20, 1935 in Peru, Indiana. They would enjoy almost 58 years together until his passing on June 6, 1993.
Vivian was a janitor for the Warsaw Community Schools for 14 years.
She was a past member of Warsaw Eagles Auxiliary. She loved to go fishing and hunt for mushrooms. She enjoyed doing craft work and traveling with her husband and family. Vivian loved her family; Sunday dinners were always held in her home.
Vivian moved from Warsaw to Nappanee where she spent the last 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter: Cleora “Clete” Rensberger, Nappanee; her son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Nancy Blue, Warsaw; a sister: Zed Heintzelman of Larwill, Indiana; 10 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Vivian was preceded in passing by 2 daughters: Charlotte Bays and Dixie Mikel; 1 son: Lawrence Blue; 5 brothers: Jim Slusher, Noble Slusher, Paul Slusher, Gerald Slusher and Erven Slusher; and 6 sisters: Daisy Hyde, Donnabelle Davis, Vi Rosbrugh, Dorothy Sutherland, Florence Miller and Joy Kyle.
Family and friends will come together for a time of sharing memories Wednesday, November 18th from 4-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A celebration of Vivian’s life will take place Thursday morning at 10 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Norm Reimer (retired) of Nappanee Missionary Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
