Walter Benzing

Walter (Wally) Benzing, age 78, of Pierceton, passed away on January 4, 2024. Wally was born on November 2, 1945, to Walter and Betty (Agnew) Benzing in Hamilton, Ohio, later moving to Gilead, Indiana and graduating from North Miami High School.  Throughout his life, he brought joy and laughter to all those around him as he had a great sense of humor and rarely new a stranger. 

Wally lived much of his life in Wisconsin where he worked as a Forester. A huge part of his career included the opportunity to drive across the countryside exploring new places, new opportunities, and hundreds of coffee shops. 

Outside of work Wally liked Notre Dame football, country music and being surrounded by his friends.  Above all else, Wally was so proud of his son and daughter and grandchildren.   

Walter is survived by his children Greg (Staci) Benzing of Rochester, Indiana, and Angie (Joe) Notz of Rochester; grandchildren: Scott Benzing (fiancé’ Danielle) of Whitestown, Landon Notz and AJ Notz both of Rochester and step-grandchild, Brook Enyeart (fiancé’ Kyle) of Illinois.  In addition, he is survived by his four siblings: Ada (Pete) Gross of Pierceton, Cindy O’Neal of West Lafayette, Bob (Marie)Benzing of Akron, Indiana, and Bill (Trish) Benzing of Columbia City and his Uncle Norman Benzing Sr of Warsaw, Indiana. 

A Life Celebration for Wally will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at The RUWM Church, 1400 West Center Street, Warsaw, IN  46580.  

Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN  46580.
