William "Eddie" Creighton, a beloved member of the community and longtime manager/owner of his family business, Creighton Brothers & Crystal Lake Egg Products, has sadly passed away at the age of 90 in his home in rural Warsaw on Crystal Lake. He will always be remembered as a remarkable figure in the agricultural industry and a pillar of the community.

Born on December 2, 1932, in Warsaw, Indiana, Eddie grew up surrounded by the beauty of rural life. From an early age, he displayed a strong work ethic and a passion for agriculture that would shape his future endeavors. After his education at Mentone High School and Purdue University, Eddie was well-prepared to carry on the family legacy.

Eddie's dedication and commitment to his family business were evident throughout his long and successful career. As the leader of the business for many years and even in his retirement, he worked tirelessly to ensure its continued growth and success. His selfless leadership and genuine character made him a respected figure within the industry.

His hard work did not go unnoticed. Eddie's contributions were recognized through various accolades throughout his life. He was honored to be named Kosciusko County Man of the Year for his significant impact on the local community. Additionally, he was awarded the prestigious Golden Egg Award from the Indiana State Poultry Association for his long time dedication to the egg industry. He was also named an Animal Science Distinguished Alumni for Purdue's College of Agriculture and was elected to three terms as a Kosciusko County Commissioner.

Even with all of these accomplishments, Eddie remained humble and down-to-earth. To those who knew him best, he was known for his honesty, trustworthiness, empathy, and kindness. These admirable qualities endeared him to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Aside from his professional achievements, Eddie held deep-rooted values centered around faith and family. He was a life-long member of Atwood Otterbein Church where he exchanged vows with Louise Jordan, the love of his life. He and Louise enjoyed many trips, often with friends, in their motorhome. They could be found from Alaska to Key West and Nova Scotia to the desert Southwest.

Eddie was also an active member of the Kiwanis Club, a private pilot and dedicated many years of his life as a Boy Scout Troop leader, leading Atwood Troop 59 for multiple generations of scouts. His guidance and mentorship touched the lives of countless young men. He greatly enjoyed the opportunity to take his scouts to the Philmont Scout Ranch in the New Mexico mountains and the Region Seven Canoe Base in Wisconsin.

More than anything, Eddie loved time spent with his family. His wife of more than 71 years, Louise Creighton survives as do their three children: sons, Bill and Tim (Sandi) Creighton of Warsaw and daughter, Mindy (Ron) Truex of Warsaw; 4 grandchildren: Brittany (Nick) Martin of Warsaw, Nathan Creighton of Warsaw, Heather Truex of St. Petersburg, FL and Tracy (Jason) Nichols of Warsaw; 6 great-grandchildren: Logan Martin, Ellie Martin, Brandon Pequignot, Katie Wood, Ian Nichols, and Ella Nichols and two sisters, Jo Bodle and Martha Milton.

Eddie is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sara Creighton; sister, Barbara Edwards; an infant brother and his beloved parents, Hobart and Ester (Robbins) Creighton - who provided him with the foundation on which he built his remarkable life.
