Biography
William L. Griggs, 73, passed away Sunday November 29, 2015 at 2:47 AM in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Bill, the son of Henry and Ivaldale (Payne) Junk, was born July 22, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He served with the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged October 11, 1960.
Bill lived most of his life in Kosciusko County and on November 27, 1985 he and Marcia Anderson were joined in marriage in Warsaw, Indiana. He was employed by Zimmer for 18 years before retiring in 1998 as a molder. Bill enjoyed bowling and gardening. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include Marcia, his wife of 30 years, from Mentone, Indiana; 2 daughters: Marissa (and Adam) Custer, Warsaw; and Annie Layne of Middlesboro, Kentucky; 2 sons: James Griggs, Mentone; and Billy (and companion, Charlene) Griggs of Glasgow, Kentucky; son-in-law: Tim Stouder of Paducah, Kentucky; step son: Eddie Mullins of Neon, Kentucky; step daughter: Donna (and companion, Charles) Miller of Glasgow; brother and sister-in-law: Ben and Pat Junk of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Naomi and Ray Lorenz of Danville, California and Beth and Clay Kemmer, Phoenix. Bill was preceded in death by a daughter: Tina Faye Stouder and his parents: Henry and Ivadale Junk.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 7th beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. Pastor Denny Wilson of Warsaw Community Church will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
The family has asked that memorial gifts be given to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 1603 N. Detroit Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
