William “Bill” J. Reiland, of Syracuse, IN, passed away on October 31, 2024, at Parkview Noble Hospital at the age of 71. Born on October 26, 1953, in South Haven, MI, to Frank and Kathleen (Weyker) Reiland, he was a dedicated and industrious individual who spent 40 years working at Commodore Homes of Indiana. His commitment to his career was rivaled only by his passion for his hobbies and the joy he found in life.
A proud graduate of South Haven High School, Class of 1972, Bill’s love for his community was evident in every aspect of his life. He was known for his enthusiasm for lawn tractor pulling and his skill in repairing tractors, hobbies that brought him immense satisfaction and joy. Whether on the field or in his workshop, he embraced every moment with a spirited determination that resonated with those around him. In addition to his mechanical pursuits, Bill found great pleasure in fishing, and as a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, he nurtured his spiritual life.
Bill is survived by his siblings, Roseann Webster, Helen Taylor, Harold Reiland, and Elaine Sawyer, along with a loving array of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law, Richard Taylor and Edward Sawyer II, who have welcomed him into their eternal rest.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Bill’s care. Bill will be buried privately at Syracuse Cemetery.
