William L. "Bill" Hoene

William L. "Bill" Hoene, 67, of Warsaw, IN (Chapman Lake) passed away at 3:08 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on April 11, 1947 in Effingham, IL to Frank Henry & Emma Catherine (Repking) Hoene.

He grew up in Effingham, IL, graduated in 1965 from St. Anthony High School in Effingham, 1969 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL and was a United States Army veteran. He moved to the Kosciusko County area in 1978 from Sterling, IL and was married on March 21, 1982 in Jackson, MI to Nelva D. “Nellie” (Rickman) Burt who survives. He was the owner / operator of Hoene Tiling in Leesburg, IN for 12 years and former manager at CFS in Milford, IN for 15 years.

He was raised in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham, member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by:
Wife – Nellie Hoene of Warsaw
4 Daughters – Jennifer (James) Sawyer of Michigan City, IN; Amy Hoene of Indianapolis; Sharon Burgett of Chelsea, MI; & Deb (Bud) Garman of Pierceton
2 Sons – William (Teresa) Baisden & Rick Baisden both of Warsaw
12 Grand & 15 Gt. Grandchildren
2 Sisters – Mary (William) Flach of Edwardsville, IL & Carol (Ron) West of Watson, IL
3 Brothers – Frank (Janet) Hoene of Effingham, IL, Mike (Cindy) Hoene of Effingham, IL & Patrick (Kippy) Hoene of St. Louis, MO

He was preceded in death by his parents, gt. grandson – Hunter Lewis, & sister – Norma Wagner.

Private family services will be held later this week at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312-0537 or National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, 911 E. 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
