Willie Lafferty

Willie Dean Lafferty passed away on the evening of Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, Indiana. Willie was 73 at the time of his passing.
He was born to Albert and Maggie (Burchett) Lafferty on October 28, 1943 in Edgar, Kentucky but spent much of his adult life in the Warsaw area.
Willie was married to Linda Collins on January 30, 1970 in Warsaw. The two spent 47 years together.
Willie worked at Dalton Foundry as a tow motor operator for more than 40 years. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served as a helicopter mechanic stationed in Georgia.
He liked to tinker, repairing small engines and lawn mowers. He enjoyed bird watching and enjoyed gardening, growing both vegetables and flowers. Above all else, he was a loving Grandfather.
Willie is survived by his wife, Linda Lafferty; daughters, Missy Allen and Cheryl (husband, Nathan) Ousley; seven grandchildren: Haley Allen, Markie Allen, Tage Allen, Will Allen, Carter Allen, Brittany Ousley and Zach Ousley and a brother, Darvin Lafferty, all of Warsaw, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton Lafferty and Charles Lafferty; an infant sister, Freida Mae Lafferty and his parents, Albert and Maggie Lafferty.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 28th from 12 to 1 PM at Living Hope Ministries, 595 East 350 North in Warsaw. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 1 PM with Living Hope’s Pastor Hedgel Perry officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by members of Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
