Wilma A. Cox

Wilma A. Cox, 84, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 2:27 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 1, 1937 in Essex, MO to W.J. & Helen (Corlew) Crutcher.

She graduated in 1954 from Essex High School and attended Malden College in Missouri. She was married on January 29, 1956 in Essex, MO to James H. “Jim” Cox who survives.  She grew up in Missouri and lived in Michigan for 6 years before moving to Syracuse area in 1963 where she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Webster and attended Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse.

She is survived by:

Husband – Jim Cox of Syracuse

3 Daughters – Jenny (Mark) Smith of Granger, IN, Mary Jane (Mike) Brannock of Syracuse, Sara Ann (Ronald) Schwartz of Fort Wayne

Son – Brad (Karen) Cox of Syracuse

14 Grand & 18 Gt. Grandchildren

Sister – June McGhee of Indianapolis

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 NB. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, 10419 N. Turkey Creek Rd., Syracuse, IN. Burial will take place in the McClintic Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
