Wilma G. Meier, 84, of Syracuse, IN passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at her home. She was born on December 26, 1930 in Hanover, IN to William Oscar & Irene Katherine (Kessler) Goins.

She graduated in 1949 from North Madison High School and on April 2, 1951 in Biloxi, MS she married Graham R. Meier who survives. She retired in 2007 from Kinro Corporation in Syracuse, Goshen, & Bristol after 25 years.  She was formerly employed at Syracuse Enterprises, Hanover College & drove bus for public schools in Fairland, IN. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1971 from economy, IN.

She was a member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, Wawasee Camp Auxiliary of the Gideon’s International in Syracuse and was raised in the Methodist Church in Madison, IN.

She is survived by:
Husband – Graham Meier of Syracuse
2 Daughters – Katherine (Phil Herbertz) Parker of Plainfield, IN & Carol (Ray) Spires of Elkhart
3 Sons – Gary Meier of Syracuse; Jerry Meier of Scottsburg; & Joseph Meier of Syracuse
7 Grandchildren
Sister – Thelma Kreeger of Madison

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse and 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, 504 S. Syracuse Webster Rd., Syracuse, IN with Pastor Pat Park of the church officiaiting. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to Wilma Meier Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567.
