Winifred E. Smith

Winifred E. Smith, 92, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on January 31, 1929 in Madison, IN to George W. & Amy (Kessler) Wehner.

She graduated from Madison High School and Beauty College in Fort Wayne. She was married on October 31, 1955 to Robert H. Smith Jr. who preceded her on December 18, 1998. She formerly owned & operated the Winnie the Pooh Styling Salon in Syracuse for many years and formerly worked at some local factories. She lived in the Syracuse area and moved to Pensacola, FL for 30 years before returning to Syracuse in 2018.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Ginger (Dan Lees) Abbs of Syracuse

3 Grandchildren – Gregory, Nicholas, and Sheena

4 Gt. Grandsons – Quintin, Lathan, Pierce, and Roman

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all her siblings.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
